Image Now was engaged by Dublin Bus as design consultants to undertake a brand and identity project.
Following an extensive visual audit, research and workshop sessions with key stakeholders, the Dublin Bus identity was overhauled to reflect the organisation's governing values of Community, Connection and Progress. The guiding principles of clarity, simplicity, visibility and continuity informed every aspect of the Dublin Bus visual identity. Central to the identity refresh was the redefining of the logo to create a crisper, more easily identifiable mark and the dialling up of the yellow and black corporate colours which are regarded worldwide as the most legible and visually discernible colour combination. Clarity and simplicity were enhanced through the removal of any surplus information and visual clutter, while continuity was ensured through the development of brand guidelines. These guidelines prescribe that Dublin Bus' visual identity is consistently represented in a clear and simple manner, thus enabling customers to access information more easily and improving the customer experience. The brand guidelines were produced in printed and PDF formats.
Since refreshing the identity, Image Now has worked on many projects with Dublin Bus that bring the brand to life. These vary from internal and external customer facing material such as brochures and posters, through to on-street furniture and shelter panels to extensions of the motherbrand for services such as Nitelink and extend over areas as far-reaching as HR to tours.
